On January 19, the Promotion Conference for the Construction of Nanjing Hexi Central Sci-tech Innovation Zone and "AI Time-Space · Nanjing Artificial Intelligence International Community" was grandly held in Nanjing. The conference, themed "Renewal · Aggregation · Integration · Win-win", unveiled the strategic blueprint and practical path for the development of artificial intelligence (AI). Local universities, as key sources of innovation and talent pools, participated in the whole process in depth, injecting strong intellectual impetus into the construction of the regional AI ecosystem, which marks a new stage of university-local collaboration driving technological innovation and industrial upgrading.
Jin Shi, Vice President of Southeast University and Dean of the National Graduate College for Elite Engineers, delivered a keynote speech entitled Cutting-edge Technological Innovation of Artificial Intelligence and Empowerment through the Integration of Industry, University and Research. He made an in-depth analysis of the development context of artificial intelligence as a key force in global strategic competition, and focused on expounding a new model for universities to drive empowerment through the integration of industry, university and research.
Professor Liu Zhiyuan, Secretary of the Direct Party Branch of the School of Statistics and Data Science, attended the unveiling ceremony of the "Joint R&D Center for Data Science" on stage. Centering on the "Big Data +" initiative, the center carries out scientific and technological R&D and innovative applications, and empowers the industrial development and modernization of governance in the Hexi Central Sci-tech Innovation Zone in such fields as big data + biology, medical care, finance, government affairs, transportation and robotics.
Ni Cheng, a postgraduate student of the National Graduate College for Elite Engineers, represented college students in Nanjing to attend the lighting ceremony of the "AI Time-Space · Nanjing Artificial Intelligence International Community Campus Tour in Nanjing" activity. He shared the potential of AI in guiding in-depth thinking and improving expressive ability, and founded Nanjing Shangzhi Emergence Technology Co., Ltd. to explore the empowerment of AI for youth development.
The successful holding of this promotion conference has clearly conveyed Nanjing's determination to gather the wisdom of universities and build a domestically leading and internationally influential highland for artificial intelligence innovation.
