Recently, the on-site appointment ceremony for the new Vice Dean (in charge of work) of the National Graduate College for Elite Engineers of Southeast University was held in Conference Room 416 of the college. Jin Shi, Vice President of Southeast University, and Li Tinghong, Deputy Director of the Organization Department of the University Party Committee, attended the ceremony. Members of the college's leading group including Chen Yang, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Dean, and Cao Xianghui, Vice Dean, as well as all faculty members of the college, participated in the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Li Tinghong, Deputy Director of the Organization Department.
Li Tinghong read out the university's appointment and removal document, and announced the appointment of Comrade Zhang Huiyan as Vice Dean (in charge of work) of the National Graduate College for Elite Engineers and concurrent Vice Dean of the Graduate School.
Subsequently, Chen Yang, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Dean of the college, and Cao Xianghui, Vice Dean, delivered speeches. On behalf of the college's leading group and all faculty and students, Chen Yang expressed firm support for the decision of the University Party Committee and a warm welcome to Comrade Zhang Huiyan on his new appointment. Cao Xianghui stated that he would fully cooperate with and support Comrade Zhang Huiyan's work, unite sincerely, gather strength, and jointly push the various undertakings of the college to a new level.
Comrade Zhang Huiyan delivered a statement on his appointment. He first expressed his gratitude for the trust and cultivation of the University Party Committee, and stated that he deeply felt the great responsibility of serving as Vice Dean (in charge of work) of the National Graduate College for Elite Engineers. He said that in his future work, he would quickly switch his role and perform his duties with dedication: first, raise his political standing and resolutely implement all the decisions and arrangements of the university; second, focus on the core responsibilities and main businesses, deepen the integration of industry and education, and explore the "Southeast University Model" for the cultivation of elite engineers; third, attach importance to solidarity and cooperation, and work with all faculty and students of the college to contribute to serving the major national strategic needs.
Finally, Jin Shi, Vice President of the university, delivered a concluding speech. He pointed out that this cadre adjustment is a decision made after overall consideration and careful research, based on the overall development of the university's undertakings and the actual construction of the National Graduate College for Elite Engineers. He put forward three hopes for the future development of the college: first, improve the governance system, focus on the core mission, and gather strength to promote the high-quality development of all undertakings of the college; second, dare to take responsibility for implementation, the leading group should unite and cooperate, seize national strategic opportunities, and take the lead in piloting the reform of the cultivation of master's and doctoral students in engineering; third, adhere to a high-standard positioning, dare to pioneer and innovate, continuously enhance core competitiveness and influence, and strive to build the college into a demonstration highland for the cultivation of national elite engineers.
