On the afternoon of October 10, the National Graduate College for Elite Engineers at Southeast University held the 2025 Freshmen Representative Symposium. The meeting was hosted by Vice Dean Chen Yang, and attended by faculty members in charge of various departments and freshmen representatives.
During the meeting, Vice Dean Chen introduced the responsibilities of each department, as well as the college's construction goals and development plans. She emphasized that the college is committed to cultivating high-quality talents with solid theoretical foundations, outstanding engineering practice capabilities, and an innovative spirit. She encouraged the students to read and think diligently, actively participate in corporate learning and internships, and transform their theoretical knowledge into practical capabilities, striving to become pillars of enterprises and leading figures in the engineering field.
In the exchange session, the participating students actively spoke up, introducing their respective majors and their learning experiences with the elite engineering professional courses. The students consulted on issues regarding their second-year practical units and external corporate mentors. Relevant faculty members answered the students' questions in detail and encouraged them to proactively strengthen communication with both internal and external mentors. The faculty specifically emphasized the active implementation of the "Three Earlies" requirement: clarifying research needs early, confirming corporate mentors early, and familiarizing with the internship environment early, so as to fully prepare for their professional internships in the second academic year.
At the end of the meeting, Vice Dean Chen encouraged students to actively participate in the college's construction, hoping that the freshmen representatives could serve as a bridge to widely promote the college's cultivation policies within their classes and timely collect and report the students' difficulties and queries. The college will always adhere to a student-centered approach and fully support the growth and development of its students.
