From September 10 to 12, the 2025 "Lingxin · Excellence" Special Training Program on Scientific and Technological Innovation of Jiangsu Guoxin Group was successfully held in Nanjing. Centering on the theme of "Driving High-Quality Development through Scientific and Technological Innovation", the training covered multiple dimensions including policy and theoretical improvement, analysis of the Group’s major sci-tech innovation projects, learning of innovative tools and management capability enhancement. A variety of training methods were adopted, such as expert lectures, innovation sand table simulations and on-site visits. As key participants in the university-enterprise joint training program, postgraduate students fromthe National Graduate College for Elite Engineers, Southeast University attended the training together with more than 140 technical backbones and young and middle-aged cadres from subsidiaries of Jiangsu Guoxin Group.
At the closing ceremony, Xu Wenjin, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Jiangsu Guoxin Group, delivered an important speech. He stressed that scientific and technological innovation serves as the core engine driving the Group’s high-quality development. It is essential to fully grasp the new development landscape and align sci-tech innovation initiatives with the national and Jiangsu provincial strategic plans. Xu Wenjin pointed out that the Group should adhere to the principle of "conducting scientific research for industrial development and pursuing innovation to meet practical demands". Focusing on priority sectors including offshore wind power, new energy storage and smart energy, the Group will strive to make breakthroughs in key core technologies. He encouraged all participants to regard sci-tech innovation as a long-term endeavor that requires steady accumulation. With the perseverance of "devoting a decade to honing a single skill", everyone should step forward to take on responsibilities in the journey of tackling technological challenges.
Wei Xianzi, a 2024-grade postgraduate student working on the smart energy project, delivered a speech as a student representative at the closing ceremony. She shared three profound insights from the training. First, she gained a brand-new understanding of building a modern energy system empowered by digital and intelligent technologies, and became clearer about the mission entrusted to her by the times. Second, through activities including sand table simulations, she experienced the challenges ranging from technological R&D to market competition, and developed a more concrete understanding of industry-university-research integration. Third, she deeply appreciated the valuable opportunities brought by the university-enterprise cooperation platform. With the dedicated guidance from enterprise mentors, she broke free from stereotyped campus thinking and set a clear goal to grow from a student into a prospective professional engineer.
This training program marks another successful practice of the strategic cooperation between Southeast University and Jiangsu Guoxin Group. Since the joint inauguration of the Excellent Engineer Technology Center for Smart Energy and Power Systems, the Excellent Engineer Training Platform for Intelligent Operation and Optimal Control of Energy and Power Systems, as well as the Southeast University-Jiangsu Guoxin Postgraduate Practice Base, university-enterprise collaborative talent cultivation has been steadily deepened. Committed to serving major national strategic needs, the college has forged in-depth ties with leading enterprises like Jiangsu Guoxin Group. It is accelerating the development of a closed-loop innovation chain where problems originate from enterprises, research is conducted on campus, and achievements are applied to industries. This effort provides solid support for cultivating outstanding engineering talents tailored to industry demands and advancing China’s dual carbon goals.
