On December 11, the unveiling ceremony of the Southeast University-Goertek Elite Engineer Technology Center for Wearable Medical and Healthcare and the inauguration of its Academic Committee took place at the Sipailou Campus of Southeast University.Academician Teng Gaojun of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and President of Zhongda Hospital Affiliated to Southeast University attended the event online. Present on-site were Liu Yaocheng, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Goertek Co., Ltd.; Jin Shi, Vice President of Southeast University and Dean ofthe National Graduate College for Elite Engineers; members of the Academic Committee of the Technology Center, as well as faculty and student representatives from the Research Institute, the National Graduate College for Elite Engineers and the School of Instrument Science and Engineering. The ceremony was presided over by Liu Zhiyuan, Vice Dean of the National Graduate College for Elite Engineers.
Vice President Jin Shi extended a warm welcome to Academician Teng Gaojun, CTO Liu Yaocheng and all guests. He stated that Southeast University will further deepen cooperation with Goertek, continuously innovate talent training models and enhance technological innovation capabilities. The university strives to build the center into a world-renowned hub for R&D and talent cultivation in the field of wearable medical and healthcare technologies. CTO Liu Yaocheng expressed his gratitude for the warm reception. He noted that Goertek has always attached great importance to open innovation since its founding. The company looks forward to further in-depth cooperation with Southeast University in cutting-edge technological R&D and talent training, so as to boost the high-quality development of China's medical and healthcare industry.

Subsequently, the inauguration ceremony of the Academic Committee officially commenced. Vice Dean Liu Zhiyuan read out the list of committee members, after which Vice President Jin Shi presented appointment certificates to the members and posed for group photos with them. Professor Liu Chengyu, Dean of the School of Instrument Science and Engineering, delivered a work report on the center. Focusing on two major research areas — wearable vital sign monitoring and virtual reality-based healthcare technologies — the center will carry out in-depth industry-university-research cooperation to develop active medical devices with independent intellectual property rights. Experts of the Academic Committee put forward guidance and suggestions one after another.
In closing, Academician Teng Gaojun, Chairman of the Academic Committee, delivered a summary speech. He spoke highly of the achievements made by the center. He remarked that the unveiling and inauguration ceremonies marked an important milestone, and expressed the hope that both sides would maintain close collaboration to contribute to the development of China's medical industry.

With the successful unveiling of the Southeast University-Goertek Elite Engineer Technology Center for Wearable Medical and Healthcare and the official establishment of its Academic Committee, a new chapter has been opened in the partnership between Southeast University and Goertek Group.
