
On the afternoon of September 3, the signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation between Southeast University and China United Network Communications Group Co., Ltd. was held at the Jiulonghu Campus of Southeast University. Chen Zhongyue, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of China Unicom Group, Zuo Wei, Secretary of the Party Committee of Southeast University, and Huang Ru, Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and President of Southeast University, attended the ceremony. Jin Shi, Vice President of Southeast University, presided over the event.

On behalf of Southeast University, Huang Ru extended a warm welcome to Chen Zhongyue and his entourage in her address, and reviewed the university's achievements in talent cultivation, scientific and technological innovation, and discipline development over recent years. She noted that the university's strengths in academic disciplines are highly aligned with China Unicom's development strategies. She expressed the hope that both sides would take this strategic cooperation agreement as a new starting point to elevate the depth and quality of bilateral cooperation. First, deepen the integration of industry and education, and jointly cultivate high-caliber talents. By buildingeliteengineer technology centers and other platforms, the two sides will set a benchmark for the training of elite engineers. Second, strengthen scientific and technological innovation cooperation in the 5G+ sector. Through joint development and resource sharing to empower each other, both parties will make greater contributions to fostering new productive forces. Third, expand cooperation into more areas, including the development of smart campuses and student internship bases. Huang Ru called for further pragmatic and efficient cooperation between the two sides to create a new model for university-enterprise collaboration, and jointly contribute wisdom and strength to national development.

Chen Zhongyue stated that Southeast University is a time-honored and prestigious institution of higher learning, which takes a leading position in building national strategic scientific and technological strength, advancing disciplinary innovation and pursuing modern education development. He noted that China Unicom's industrial layout in communication technologies, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and other fields is highly compatible with the university's superior disciplines. Taking this signing as an opportunity, China Unicom will further scale up cooperation and jointly build an innovation chain covering scientific and technological breakthroughs, equipment upgrading and industrial advancement with Southeast University. He hoped that the two sides would conduct in-depth, multi-level and all-round university-enterprise cooperation, nurture talents for scientific and technological innovation, and work together to bolster national strategic scientific and technological strength.
Representatives from both parties signed four documents respectively: the Strategic Cooperation Agreement between Southeast University and China Unicom, the Cooperation Agreement on Joint Establishment of elite Engineer Technology Center between Southeast University and China Unicom, the Cooperation Agreement on AI Computing Power Innovation and R&D Center between Southeast University and China Unicom Jiangsu Branch, and the Cooperation Agreement on Joint Development of Smart Campus between Southeast University and China Unicom Nanjing Branch.

At the ceremony, Zuo Wei and Chen Zhongyue jointly unveiled the SEU-China Unicom Technical Center forelite Engineers in Cybersecurity and the SEU-China Unicom Joint R&D Center for AI Computing Power.
Prior to the signing ceremony, Chen Zhongyue and his entourage visited the science and technology exhibition of Southeast University.
Present at the signing ceremony were relevant officials from the General Office, Government & Enterprise Customer Group of China Unicom Group, its Jiangsu Branch, Nanjing Branch, China Unicom (Jiangsu) Industrial Internet Co., Ltd., as well as representatives from the Party Committee Office, President's Office, Research Institute, Graduate School, Network & Information Center, School of Information Science and Engineering, School of Physics, School of Cyberspace Security, School of Continuing Education andthe National Graduate College for Elite Engineers of Southeast University.
