On the morning of September 24, the 2025 Beijing Microelectronics International Symposium and IC WORLD Conference opened in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town, also known as Yizhuang). Wang Shijiang, Deputy Director-General of the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Xu Xinchao, Secretary-General of the Beijing Municipal People’s Government; Yang Xiuling, Party Secretary and Director of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform; and Jiang Guangzhi, Party Secretary and Director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, attended the opening ceremony. At the ceremony, Kong Lei, Secretary of the Working Committee of Beijing E-Town, introduced the area’s development momentum, industrial strengths, innovation achievements, and business-support policies. A strategic cooperation signing ceremony was also held between Beijing’s integrated circuit industry organizations and industrial parks, financial institutions, and talent service agencies, along with the launch ceremony for the new book series Integrated Circuit Series.
Under the theme “Gathering Momentum for New Breakthroughs, Leading a New Era with Intelligence,” the conference featured one keynote forum and 10 thematic sub-forums. More than 80 academicians, experts, and industry leaders took part in high-level academic exchanges focusing on industry frontiers, technological innovation, and the integration of industry, academia, research, and application. In the morning session of the keynote forum, experts and industry leaders shared their views on cutting-edge developments. Feng Li, President of SEMI China, noted that data show AI is profoundly reshaping the semiconductor sector and that China’s semiconductor industry has promising prospects. Experts including Wei Shaojun, Wang Zhijia, Tang Jianshi, Wang Yuan, and Li Ming held in-depth discussions on frontier topics such as innovation in computing chip technologies, the development of integrated circuits in the intelligent era, embodied neuromorphic intelligence, high-performance computing chips, and optoelectronic materials. In the afternoon session, industry representatives including Bai Peng, Dong Boyu, Zhu Yu, Zhang Jianzhong, Zhao Chao, He Ning, and Wang Feng exchanged practical experience on key technical issues such as industrial innovation and development, GPUs, DRAM, and RISC-V, offering valuable new insights to support high-quality industrial growth.
The conference also hosted an exhibition concurrently, with nearly 10,000 square meters of display space and close to 130 enterprises from across the integrated circuit industry chain, including research institutes, industry organizations, and companies engaged in IC design, manufacturing, packaging and testing, equipment, materials, components, and facility construction. The exhibition showcased the latest achievements in the development of the integrated circuit industry chain. On the day of the event, the conference attracted more than 4,000 on-site attendees and nearly 80,000 participants via the online platform.
Xu Xinchao, Secretary-General of the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, said that Beijing will take the development of a high-quality integrated circuit industrial ecosystem as a guiding priority, support technological innovation and industrial development in the integrated circuit sector, and continue to make sustained efforts in key core technology breakthroughs, industrial innovation and development, and the cultivation of innovative enterprises, thereby making new contributions to the development of China’s integrated circuit industry and scientific and technological innovation.
