On the evening of November 13, an exchange symposium between Southeast University’s National Graduate School of Exceptional Engineers and the China North Industries Talent Research Institute was successfully held. Ma Xiaohua, Deputy Dean of the China North Industries Talent Research Institute, Chen Yang, Deputy Party Secretary and Associate Dean of the National Graduate School of Exceptional Engineers at Southeast University, and relevant teachers from both sides attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Chen Yang first introduced the school’s founding background, educational characteristics, and the practical achievements and significant results it has made in cultivating innovative talent to the attendees and students.

The meeting then moved into an exchange session focused on the students selected by China North Industries Group to receive entrusted training at Southeast University. The participants held candid and in-depth discussions about specific issues and concerns the students encountered in course learning, research practice, and campus life. During the meeting, the students actively spoke up about the challenges they faced in adapting to the new environment, academic pressure, and access to research resources. Chen Yang and Ma Xiaohua carefully listened to the students’ concerns and gave serious attention and detailed responses to each issue, stating that they would coordinate both on-campus and off-campus resources to provide solid support for the growth and success of the jointly trained students, ensuring that they could live with peace of mind and focus on their studies.

On the next day, November 14, during the daytime exchange and discussion session, faculty representatives from Southeast University’s School of Information Science and Engineering, School of Electronic Science and Engineering, and School of Computer Science and Engineering joined the discussion, and together with representatives from the enterprise and the university, conducted in-depth exchanges on the key aspects of the joint training process. The meeting focused on optimization opportunities in areas such as curriculum alignment, mentor guidance, process management, and evaluation mechanisms. All participants agreed that it is necessary to further strengthen school-enterprise collaborative education, improve the regular communication and coordination mechanism under the “university-enterprise dual mentor system,” promptly solve specific issues arising in the training process, and continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of the joint cultivation of exceptional engineering talent.

The successful organization of this series of exchange activities not only promptly addressed the practical concerns of the jointly trained students, but also, through multi-dimensional and in-depth discussions, laid a more solid foundation for Southeast University and China North Industries Group to continue deepening their strategic cooperation and jointly exploring a new path for cultivating exceptional engineers with industry-specific characteristics. Both sides are confident about future cooperation and will continue to work together to provide more politically steadfast, professionally proficient, and innovation-driven backbone talent for the country’s national defense cause and the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry.
