On September 12, Southeast University’s National Graduate School of Exceptional Engineers and Shanghai Aerospace Space Technology Co., Ltd. held an exchange meeting on project-based practical training. Chen Yang, Deputy Party Secretary and Associate Dean of Southeast University’s National Graduate School of Exceptional Engineers; teachers from the student affairs office and cultivation office; and university mentor representatives attended the meeting together with relevant leaders from the space company and enterprise mentors. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on students’ enterprise practice.
The meeting included an enterprise mentor appointment ceremony, in which several technical experts from the space company were awarded enterprise mentor appointment letters.
During the presentation session on practical achievements, students participating in the project showcased their accomplishments in key roles such as thermal design engineers, payload design engineers, software development engineers, and solar wing design engineers. The students completed their project tasks conscientiously and demonstrated strong growth throughout the practical process. Using specific cases and data, they reported on the gains and insights they obtained from transforming theoretical knowledge into practical capability. The mentors gave positive evaluations of the students’ performance, noting that within a short period they had demonstrated solid engineering literacy and learning ability, and had met the expected project goals.
In the subsequent symposium, the university and enterprise representatives held in-depth discussions on the quality standards, process management, and evaluation mechanisms for the cultivation of exceptional engineers. The mentors agreed that school-enterprise collaboration should be further strengthened and that a regular communication mechanism should be improved in order to provide students with a better practical platform. The school will continue to deepen its cooperation with the space company and jointly explore new pathways and models for cultivating exceptional engineers, thereby providing more outstanding engineering talent in service of national strategic needs.
The holding of this meeting not only showcased the phased results of the project, but also laid a solid foundation for deeper cooperation in the future. It is believed that through the joint efforts of both the university and the enterprise, more exceptional engineering talents capable of shouldering the great task of national rejuvenation will be cultivated.
