On October 13, the 2025 Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX Global) opened in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. China Unicom made its first appearance in the Middle East with its newly upgraded international brand, UniCom, showcasing its global digital infrastructure, deeply integrated AI technology ecosystem, and fruitful achievements in empowering digital transformation across industries. The exhibition vividly reflects China Unicom’s strategic leap from a “telecom service provider” to a “digital-intelligence enabler,” contributing Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions to digital transformation in the Middle East and around the world.

Building a stronger digital foundation and a new backbone for the global network
In the international network interconnection area, China Unicom highlighted its global new-generation digital information infrastructure featuring “east-west mutual support, north-south mutual backup, sea-land coordination, and intelligent leadership.” With more than 60 international submarine cable systems, it provides stable and efficient connectivity for global customers. Through innovative products such as global dedicated lines, intelligent networking, and IP Transit, it has built “low-latency, high-stability” digital channels for Chinese enterprises going global.

In cloud and computing services, China Unicom has built a global resource system of “3+N+X” and is comprehensively advancing its international computing supply capabilities. Relying on the “Unicom Xingluo” advanced computing scheduling platform 2.0, Unicom Cloud enables intelligent coordination of massive computing clusters, supporting heterogeneous computing integration management, intelligent scheduling and distribution, and standardized measurement and trading. Through global smart operations, it provides unified international product launches, flexible international service ordering, unified international resource measurement, international computing compliance and security, and global cross-domain integrated scheduling services. In the application ecosystem, China Unicom’s “Digital-Intelligent Product Supermarket” has gathered more than 150 intelligent agents and serves 360,000 enterprise customers with convenient computing services and intelligent solutions, effectively supporting Chinese enterprises going global and the digital transformation of industries.
In the Internet of Things field, China Unicom provides connected-car services for automobile manufacturers going overseas, enabling one-stop SIM card access and management through four global hubs, and applies the industry’s first AI large model to help automakers optimize design and usage forecasting. In addition, multiple AIoT products such as the Yanfei low-power wide-voltage Cat.1 module provide stable connectivity and convenient experiences for industrial interconnection and cross-border business travel.
Deepening digital-intelligent integration and reshaping new momentum for industrial development
China Unicom’s achievements in 5G+AI full-scenario innovation became a highlight of the exhibition. In industrial manufacturing, 5G precision control technology effectively improves the yield rate of smart manufacturing; in mining, 5G + new-energy unmanned mining trucks strengthen the safety line for smart mines; and in logistics, intelligent port and warehousing systems enable full-process intelligent operations, delivering a 30% increase in warehousing efficiency and a 70% reduction in labor costs. To help Chinese enterprises expand overseas, China Unicom launched the U PLUS Opening Package, providing a one-stop service covering compliant operations, resource integration, and local team support to safeguard enterprises as they enter international markets.

In the international low-altitude intelligent connectivity area, China Unicom showcased its system capabilities in low-altitude digital governance and video AI. The low-altitude safety supervision platform deeply integrates 5G-A sensing and communication and radar technologies to build a three-dimensional perception network covering the entire airspace, enabling precise tracking and intelligent early warning of low-altitude aircraft. The smart low-altitude application platform provides a full-stack solution of “hardware + cloud,” and has already been successfully implemented in projects such as the Yangtze River waterway inspection and Qingdao low-altitude governance, helping improve operational efficiency by 90%. In addition, the Tianying video platform, which integrates more than 250 AI algorithms and features state-secret-level security capabilities, provides strong technical support for smart cities, digital villages, and other scenarios, demonstrating China Unicom’s deep expertise in video AI and intelligent governance.
In AI large-model applications, the “1+1+M” system based on China Unicom’s independently developed Yuanjing large model has been deployed in government services, the economy, healthcare, education, culture and tourism, and other sectors, enabling data-driven end-to-end intelligent upgrades.
Innovating smart applications to create a new digital life experience
Focusing on the frontier of smart homes and digital life, China Unicom launched a series of innovative smart applications such as Zhijia Tongtong, Unicom Kanjia, and Unicom Cloud Drive, building a new secure, convenient, and intelligent ecosystem for family digital life. Based on the technical foundation of “AI + 5G + eSIM,” China Unicom has created all-time, all-scenario intelligent connectivity experiences for users. At the exhibition, visitors could experience the lightweight versatility of the Yunzhi AI Pad, the WiFi 7 ultra-high-speed network brought by the FTTR converged gateway, and the intelligent office and AR navigation functions of the Yuanjing AI Glasses, all of which vividly demonstrate China Unicom’s innovation capability and scenario-based service strength in smart homes.

In international roaming services, China Unicom has built an extensive global network and has launched 5G and HD voice services with numerous international operators, achieving comprehensive coverage across major countries and regions worldwide.
Empowering cultural and creative innovation and showcasing a new integration of technology and culture
At this exhibition, China Unicom also set up a cultural and creative display area, bringing uniquely designed cultural products to the international stage. The exhibited products span multiple series and fully demonstrate China Unicom’s innovative practice of conveying brand value and spreading Chinese culture through cultural and creative design.

The Yuanjing “Zhiyijin” interactive experience area was a major highlight of the exhibition. Powered by the Yuanjing large model, it used dynamic and scenario-based digital presentations to breathe modern vitality into traditional culture, creating an immersive cultural experience for visitors. It not only showcases the cross-disciplinary integration capabilities of AI technology, but also highlights the cultural confidence and innovative vitality of Chinese enterprises.
From strengthening the digital foundation to empowering industries, from technological innovation to ecosystem building, China Unicom invites global partners to visit its booth at the Dubai World Trade Centre (H20-D25) from October 13 to 17 to explore new opportunities in the digital economy and jointly create a smarter future.
