Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the list of the eighth batch of national manufacturing single champion enterprises. Goertek Optical Technology Co., Ltd., a holding subsidiary of Goertek Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Goertek Optical”), was selected for the first time, with its virtual reality optical module recognized as the selected product. This is also the third time that Goertek has won the title of national manufacturing single champion enterprise, following its previous selections in 2017 and 2022.
A manufacturing single champion enterprise refers to a company that has long been focused on a specific segment of the manufacturing market, with production technology or processes at an internationally leading level and a single product whose market share ranks among the top globally or domestically. Since 2012, Goertek Optical has been dedicated to the R&D and manufacturing of optical components and modules for VR, MR, AR, and micro-projection applications, and has become a core global supplier of optical components for XR products. It has achieved a number of technological innovations and breakthroughs in optics, including being the first company in the industry to launch a Pancake folded optical path module, being the first to establish a 12-inch wafer production line for AR diffractive waveguide products, and achieving the industry’s first automated optical performance evaluation system.
In the future, Goertek Optical will continue to make breakthroughs in core optical technologies and promote the upgrading of industrial technology development.
