On May 21, 2025, a school-enterprise cooperation symposium between Southeast University and China Baowu Group was held in Shanghai. Cao Xianghui, Vice Dean of Southeast University’s National Graduate School of Exceptional Engineers, led a delegation to China Baowu Group for the exchange. Chen Yingying, Executive Vice President of the Party School of China Baowu Group, Executive Dean of the National Graduate School of Exceptional Engineers, and Secretary-General of the Baosteel Education Foundation, attended the exchange meeting, together with Feng Aihua, Director of the Group Office (Party Committee Office), Yuan Lei, Chief Engineer of Baowu Design Institute, and relevant leaders from the Management Training Institute, Human Resources Department, and Admissions and Training Office. Relevant heads from the General Office, Research Office, and Student Affairs Office of Southeast University’s National Graduate School of Exceptional Engineers also participated in the symposium.

Chen Yingying first expressed appreciation for Southeast University’s long-term support to China Baowu Group and introduced the group’s development history, technological advantages, major research directions, and the current status of engineering master’s and doctoral talent cultivation. She expressed hope that the two sides could carry out more diversified exchanges in the future and promote deeper scientific research cooperation and joint cultivation of exceptional engineers in areas such as advanced materials, green and low-carbon technologies, and artificial intelligence.
At the meeting, both sides focused on optimizing the joint training model for engineering master’s and doctoral students, implementing joint recruitment by the university and enterprise, improving the “dual mentor” system, and encouraging Baowu technical experts to deeply participate in project cooperation and teaching practice. They also worked on aligning with key technical needs and using real scientific research projects as practical carriers to build a cultivation system centered on “project integration + resource coordination.” This symposium provided a practical model for deepening the integration of industry and education and innovating engineering education.
